“The private media should be at the forefront of building Brand Zimbabwe through projecting a positive image of the country. This will not only attract investors but also promote economic growth and help in the attainment of Vision 2030,” he said.

The Minister also urged the media to avoid sensationalism and instead focus on developmental agendas that would contribute to the socio-economic development of the nation.

“We need the media to be responsible and to avoid sensationalism. Instead, they should focus on developmental agendas that will contribute to the socio-economic development of the nation,” Dr Muswere said.

He emphasized the need for the media to constantly update and adapt to new technologies in order to remain relevant and competitive in the digital age.

“Technology is constantly evolving and the media needs to keep up with these changes in order to remain relevant. The private media should embrace and leverage new technologies to enhance their operations and reach a wider audience,” he said.

The Minister also highlighted the importance of ethical journalism and responsible reporting in shaping public opinion and perceptions.

“Ethical journalism is crucial in shaping public opinion and perceptions. The private media should prioritize responsible reporting in order to build trust and credibility with the public,” Dr Muswere added.

In conclusion, the Minister emphasized the vital role of the private media in nation-building and urged them to prioritize the promotion of a positive image of Zimbabwe in order to contribute to the achievement of Vision 2030.
