By Business Reporter – The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has begun producing redesigned ZiG banknotes, which it says will soon be rolled out into circulation.

While authorities insist this is merely a redesign and not the introduction of a new currency, the move has been widely interpreted as confirmation that the ZiG – launched with fanfare just over a year ago – has already collapsed.
