Mnangagwa Declares Own Birthday a Public Holiday
By A Correspondent | President Emmerson Mnangagwa has declared September 15, the date he identifies as his birthday, a national public holiday, in a move likely to fuel further debate over the growing personalisation of power in Zimbabwe.
Under Statutory Instrument 148 of 2026, published in an Extraordinary Government Gazette on September 9, September 15 will henceforth be observed as Munhumutapa Day.
