Zimbabwean students in pursuing their higher education at the University of Zambia (UNZA).

Speaking at a luncheon he hosted for the 10 beneficiaries at State House yesterday, the President said the scholarships were meant to benefit the country as a whole, and urged the students to work hard and excel in their studies.

“We have given you this opportunity to study at this esteemed university, not for your own benefit, but for the benefit of Zimbabwe as a whole. We want you to come back with the knowledge and skills you acquire here and contribute to the development of our nation,” President Mnangagwa said.

The ED-UNZA Scholarship Fund covers tuition fees, accommodation, and a monthly stipend for the duration of the beneficiaries’ studies. The fund is open to Zimbabwean students who have excelled in their high school education and want to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies in various fields at UNZA.

The President urged the students to take their studies seriously and to be disciplined and focused in their pursuit of knowledge.

“I urge you to take your studies seriously and to be disciplined in your approach to your studies. This is an opportunity that not many in our country get, so make the most of it,” President Mnangagwa said.

The 10 beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the President for the opportunity to study at UNZA and promised to work hard and make the most of the opportunity.

“We are grateful to His Excellency the President for this opportunity to study at UNZA. We promise to work hard and excel in our studies so that we can come back and contribute to the development of our country,” one of the beneficiaries said.

The President also urged the students to be good ambassadors for their country and to forge bonds of friendship with their Zambian counterparts.

“As you go to study at UNZA, remember that you are not just representing yourselves, but also your country. I urge you to be good ambassadors for Zimbabwe and to forge friendships with your Zambian counterparts. This will not only enrich your experience but also contribute to the strengthening of the relationship between our two countries,” President Mnangagwa said.

The ED-UNZA Scholarship Fund is part of the President’s efforts to promote education and human capital development in Zimbabwe. Since its establishment, the Fund has benefited a significant number of students who have gone on to pursue successful careers in various fields.

The President reiterated his commitment to providing more opportunities for Zimbabwean students to pursue higher education and urged other well-wishers to join in the effort to invest in the education of the country’s youth.

“I am committed to providing more opportunities for our young people to pursue higher education. I urge other well-wishers to join us in this effort to invest in the education of our youth. Education is the key to our country’s development, and we must do everything we can to ensure that our young people have access to quality education,” President Mnangagwa said.

The luncheon was also attended by senior government officials, representatives from UNZA, and well-wishers who have contributed to the success of the ED-UNZA Scholarship Fund.

In conclusion, President Mnangagwa’s challenge to the 10 ED-UNZA Scholarship Fund beneficiaries highlights the importance of investing in education and human capital development for the future of Zimbabwe. The Fund is a testament to the President’s commitment to providing opportunities for the country’s youth to pursue higher education and contribute to the development of the nation. The beneficiaries have expressed their gratitude and commitment to making the most of the opportunity, and the President has called on other well-wishers to join in the effort to invest in the education of Zimbabwe’s youth. With continued support and investment in education, Zimbabwe’s youth will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute to the country’s development and prosperity.
