ZANU PF Targets Mt Pleasant Parliamentary Seat
The ZANU PF party is gearing up for the by-elections in Mt Pleasant Constituency scheduled for the 27th of this month. As part of their campaign efforts, the ZANU PF Harare provincial leadership has been engaging with party members in the area, promising enhanced improvements in key areas of social development.
The ruling party’s provincial leadership has been emphasizing the importance of unity within its membership. Senator Charles Tawengwa, a member of the ZANU PF Politburo, stated, “We are carrying the same message where we meet our mobilisation teams and giving each other direction and our campaign strategy ahead of the elections.”
Another ZANU PF Politburo member, Cde Tendai Chirau, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the upcoming by-elections. “We are showcasing that ZANU PF is the revolutionary party that everyone must vote for, and there is no doubt we are now claiming the Mt Pleasant parliamentary seat,” he said.
Cde Godwills Masimirembwa, the ZANU PF Harare Provincial chairman, declared that the party is fully prepared to win the Mt Pleasant parliamentary seat. “It is all systems go, our structures and direction have been laid out, and we are raring to go. There is no reason for losing,” he emphasized.
The ZANU PF candidate for Mt Pleasant Constituency, Cde George Mashavave, highlighted some of the issues that he plans to address if elected into office. “We are ready for the elections and there are various issues that we need to address as soon as possible, such as water problems,” he stated.
The Mt Pleasant parliamentary seat became vacant following the resignation of Citizens Coalition for Change National Assembly member Ms Fadzai Mahere. As the by-election date draws closer, the ZANU PF party is intensifying its efforts to win the seat and implement changes that will benefit the constituents.
