According to the statement released by the party, Professor Welshman Ncube has been appointed as the Acting President for a 90-day period, starting immediately. The NSC emphasized the importance of maintaining unity and cohesion within the party, especially in the wake of the uncertainties caused by Chamisa’s departure.

The party also emphasized the need for all office bearers to resume their duties based on the 2019 structures, marking the beginning of an uninterrupted path to restore stability and democracy within the party.
The NSC also announced that the Acting President will lead a confidence-building process, engaging with the party membership and stakeholders to reposition the democratic agenda. The party’s deployees in various positions and public offices were urged to continue performing their duties for the betterment of the people, with a specific focus on addressing the challenges faced by the country, such as the cholera outbreak, inflation, and the government’s inability to address these issues.
The party’s Parliamentary Caucus met and selected Hon Lynette Karenyi Kore to be the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, along with other parliamentary leadership appointments.
The announcement also included contact information for the Acting Communications Secretary, indicating that this information could be shared or disseminated further.

The appointment of Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti as rotational Presidents signifies a shift in the party’s leadership structure and a strategy to ensure unity and stability during a transitional period.
The CCC’s focus on addressing key issues affecting the country, such as the cholera outbreak and economic challenges, demonstrates a commitment to serving the interests of the Zimbabwean people. The appointment of Hon Lynette Karenyi Kore as the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament also reflects the party’s determination to play a crucial role in the country’s legislative process.
