The tragic incident of the death of four children found in a wrecked car in Hopely Zone 1 in Harare has left the community and the nation in mourning. The local government authority, including the Mayor Cllr Jacob Mafume, Councillors, Town Clerk, Management, and staff of the HCC, expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the deceased children. The Mayor announced that the City will provide free graves and four coffins for the toddlers, as well as firewood and part of the food to be consumed at the funeral.

According to the police, the four children had entered a parked Black Toyota Chaser motor vehicle with a non-functional engine. They had closed the rear passenger door, which had tinted windows, and the vehicle had been parked at a residence in Hopely Zone 1, Harare, from noon until 7:00 p.m.
