The incoming Commander pledged to work towards modernizing the Air Force of Zimbabwe and contributing to the nation’s development goals. He acknowledged the leadership of the Commander Zimbabwe Defence Force and the President in prioritizing the modernization of the Forces to create a peaceful environment conducive to development.

General Philip Valerio Sibanda, Chief witnessing officer and Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces, urged the new Commander AFZ to work diligently for the benefit of the nation. He commended Air Marshal Elson Moyo for his efforts in modernizing the AFZ and called for continuity under the new leadership.

The Air Force of Zimbabwe plays a crucial role in achieving Vision 2030 by collaborating with other security agencies to combat illegal activities at the country’s entry points. The AFZ’s commitment to maintaining peace and security aligns with the national development agenda, ensuring a conducive environment for progress and growth.

The ceremony also saw the delegation being joined by various stakeholders and officials, including members of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces and government representatives. As the new Commander Air Force of Zimbabwe, Air Marshal Nzvede is tasked with leading the AFZ in fulfilling its mandate of protecting the nation and supporting its development objectives. His leadership will be instrumental in driving the AFZ towards greater efficiency, effectiveness, and preparedness to face emerging security challenges.

In conclusion, the handover-takeover ceremony marked a significant transition in the leadership of the Air Force of Zimbabwe.
