President Emmerson Mnangagwa has made significant changes to the leadership within the Zimbabwean government, with the recent firing of Air Marshal Elson Moyo from his position as Commander of the Airforce of Zimbabwe. In his place, Air Vice Marshal John Jacob Nzvede has been appointed as the new Commander of the Airforce of Zimbabwe, effective from March 15, 2024. Additionally, President Mnangagwa has appointed Dr Christopher Pamhidzai Pasi as the Secretary to the Health Service Commission. Dr. Pasi brings a wealth of experience and qualifications to this role, with a background in medicine, surgery, tropical medicine, hygiene, and business administration. He is also a Fellow of the College of Physicians in Central and East Africa.

Dr. Pasi’s career in government began in 1993, and he has steadily progressed through the ranks to his most recent position as Chief Medical Officer at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital. His appointment as Secretary to the Health Service Commission reflects a strong commitment to improving the healthcare system in Zimbabwe and ensuring the provision of quality medical services to the population.
