A tragic incident has shaken the community of Mwinilunga District in the North Western Province as a female physiotherapist, Twaambo Hitima, was allegedly killed by her husband. The devastating news was confirmed by the North Western Province Police Commanding officer, Dennis Moola, who provided details of the incident.

Twaambo Hitima, a 36-year-old resident of the low-density area in Mwinilunga district, met a horrific fate on March 18, 2024, around 9:00 pm. Her husband, Coillard Mubita, a 44-year-old Human Resource Officer at Mwinilunga District Health Office, reportedly used an unknown sharp instrument to inflict multiple deep cuts on her neck. The tragic event unfolded after a marital dispute between the couple, as reported by the deceased’s niece, Racheal Nyambe, who is 18 years old and also resides in the low-density area.

Following the heinous act, Coillard Mubita was taken into police custody and is currently detained as a murder investigation is underway. A docket for murder has been opened as authorities work to unravel the details surrounding this shocking crime. Meanwhile, the body of Twaambo Hitima has been transferred to the Mwinilunga District Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

The entire community is reeling from the loss of Twaambo Hitima, a dedicated physiotherapist who undoubtedly touched the lives of many through her work.
