Nigeria has been plunged into darkness once again as the national electricity grid, controlled from Osogbo, Osun State, collapsed at approximately 4:30pm on Thursday. This outage has left most distribution companies across the country with their feeders out, resulting in their franchise areas across all 36 states being shrouded in darkness. Prior to the collapse, the grid output stood at 2984 megawatts as of 4pm, highlighting the extent of the crisis.
