Tunisia is taking part in the 2023 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) taking place from April 15 to April 20, 2024 at the WBG and IMF headquarters in Washington, as announced yesterday by the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
The official Tunisian delegation is composed of the Minister of Economy and Planning, Feryel Ouerghi, the Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia (CBT), Fethi Zouhair Nouri, and the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, Samia Charfi.
The Tunisian delegation’s program includes meetings with senior officials of regional and international financial institutions as well as with counterparts from brotherly and friendly countries.
These meetings will be an opportunity to present to Tunisia’s partners the main reforms undertaken by the country to stimulate growth, preserve financial balances, and improve the social situation, within the framework of the Tunisia 2035 strategic vision and the 2023-2025 development plan.
These meetings will also explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation in this delicate global situation, where countries worldwide, especially those in development, are facing numerous economic, financial, and social challenges, as well as challenges related to climate change, energy, and food security.
Members of the Tunisian delegation will attend official sessions and various governors’ meetings, as well as seminars and discussion panels scheduled alongside the annual meetings focusing on vital themes related to the challenges and prospects of economic and social development and sustainable development issues worldwide.
