The former Minister of Human Rights, Ange-Marie Mushobekwa, took part on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the requiem mass organized in memory of Chérubin Okende at the Notre Dame du Congo Cathedral in Kinshasa.

Several politicians were also present, such as Moise Katumbi, Martin Fayulu, Francine Muyumba, and Jaynet Kabila.

For her part, the president of the political party Movement for National Cohesion (MCN), Marie-Ange Mushobekwa, did not hesitate to show her support to the widow and children of the deceased.

“I came to pay my final respects to my former colleague Chérubin Okende, to show my support to his widow and orphans. May his soul rest in peace,” she declared to the press.

After this statement, she directly left the Notre Dame du Congo Cathedral to continue her duties.

It is worth noting that the former Minister of Transport and Communications, Chérubin Okende, was found dead in his jeep with his body riddled with bullets on the morning of July 13, 2023, on the Avenue of Heavyweights. According to the conclusion of the justice system, it was ruled as a suicide, a conclusion rejected by his biological family during this mass.
