As Uganda moves closer to commercial oil production, the government has officially named its crude oil blend “Pearl Sweet” to establish its identity on the global commodities market ahead of the commercial production in the near future.
Speaking during the naming ceremony at the Kingfisher Development Area in Kikuube District, President Yoweri Museveni revealed the designation was chosen by what he described as “my people.”
He explained that the name highlights the specific quality of the country’s resource.
