The Roosevelt Africa Trail has entered a phase of implementation after a high-level engagement in New York secured US backing and opened the way for congressional, business and public mobilisation around the initiative.
The Roosevelt Africa Trail is based on former United States President Theodore Roosevelt’s 1909–1910 expedition through East Africa, during which he travelled with his son, Kermit, and a Smithsonian scientific team through present-day Kenya and Uganda, generating thousands of scientific specimens, photographs and field records.
