UPC members snub disciplinary committee over NRM ties

Three members of the opposition Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party, accused of openly campaigning for President Yoweri Museveni during the 2026 polls, have declined to appear before the UPC National Disciplinary Committee.

Mr Alex Ogwal, former LC5 chairman of Kwania District; Mr Chris Ongom, former vice chairman of Oyam District; and Mr George Ewal, a loyal UPC member, were summoned to appear before the committee, chaired by Mr Peter Paul Okello, on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
