UN Women has challenged young women in Uganda to defy traditional gender roles and take up leadership positions in technology, emphasizing that digital literacy is vital for the future economy.

The call was made during the conclusion of Phase IV of the African Girls Can Code Initiative (AGCCI) coding camp, held at Kyebambe Girls’ Secondary School in Fort Portal City. The intensive 10-day training programme brought together 60 female students from 16 secondary schools across the Tooro sub-region.
