The Covid-19 pandemic presented an unexpected opportunity for Mukhone to delve deeper into the coffee industry, and he chose to explore his passion for coffee during the lockdown.
Despite the difficult terrain and environmental challenges in the Elgon sub-region, Mukhone was determined to set up a washing station for Arabica coffee. The successful establishment of the washing station not only allowed BKC to produce high-quality coffee but also benefitted the local community by providing free clean water to residents.
Mukhone’s dedication to producing quality coffee has paid off, as BKC was recognized as one of Uganda’s model coffee projects by the Uganda Coffee Development Authority. Their commitment to consistently producing top-quality coffee has earned them a reputation for excellence in the industry.
