Three armed robbers were lynched in Namasuba along Entebbe road. The robbers, who were travelling on a motorcycle with registration number UES 820K, waylaid three staff of Shana Distributors Ltd, Kikuubo; Patricia Babirye, Haruna Galabuzi, and Henry Mfitumukiza at Ndejje Kibutika village, Wakiso district. The robbers shot at Babirye, the company’s salesperson, and stole 20 million shillings from the staff. The incident attracted the locals and bodaboda riders, who gave chase to the robbers until they were eventually lynched in Namasuba.

Haruna Galabuzi, the driver of the truck, and Mfitumukiza, who was offloading the products, explained the sequence of events to the police. Luke Owoyesigyire, Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, confirmed that all the robbers succumbed to the injuries inflicted on them. Two of the robbers were identified as Mark Bakka and Brian Ssemanda.

The police recovered identification and voter cards from the bodies, as well as the alleged weapon, as evidence. However, the 20 million shillings that were stolen has not been recovered and is believed to have been taken by members of the public during the confrontation.

The gun recovered from the robbers was displayed in an image accompanying the news. The image shows the gun and a caption identifying it as the weapon recovered from the robbers in Namasuba.

The robbers’ attempt to commit the armed robbery led to their demise at the hands of the public. The incident serves as a reminder of the risks and consequences of engaging in criminal activities.
