A tragic incident unfolded in Kampala as a driver working with Khan Logistics was shot dead by a private security guard on allegations of having an affair with the guard’s wife. The victim, Adaca Sabina, also known as Francis Alele, a resident of Kisalosalo in Kawempe Division, was fatally shot in the chest by a security guard named Achol, who works with SGA Security. The shooting took place on a Wednesday evening around 7:30 pm, and Achol fled the scene after committing the crime.

The deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, revealed that the Kira Road police collected possible exhibits from the scene and transported Sabina’s body to the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) morgue at Mulago for a postmortem examination. Owoyesigyire mentioned that rumors of infidelity were circulating among the locals, suggesting a possible motive for the murder. However, he emphasized the importance of allowing the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the actual reasons behind the heinous crime.

In the wake of Sabina’s murder, the city recorded a total of four killings during the Eid Al-Fitr celebrations. One of the victims, Brian Maniriho, a 19-year-old hawker from Kifumbira zone in Kamwokya, was found dead at Kitante junction on Kira Road. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, as he was discovered lying in a pool of blood with fresh bruises and cuts on his head. Additionally, two unidentified men were killed in separate incidents in Old Kampala and Kasangati.

The Old Kampala incident unfolded in Kasubi when a group of thugs broke into a residence, prompting the neighbors to intervene. One of the suspects was lynched by the residents after being caught hiding in a tree. In Kasangati, a murder occurred in Masooli village, where an unidentified man believed to be a boda boda rider was found dead near an abandoned motorcycle.

The police have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in solving these cases. Each of these incidents highlights the prevalence of violence and crime in the city, underscoring the need for increased vigilance and security measures. The authorities are working diligently to apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice, but cooperation from the community is essential in ensuring a safer environment for all residents.

As the investigations continue, the families of the victims mourn their tragic losses, grappling with the senseless nature of these crimes. The community at large is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities to prevent such tragedies from recurring in the future.
