Overnight drone and missile attacks by Russia targeted four regions of Ukraine, resulting in at least three people being injured, the Ukrainian armed forces reported on Sunday. The attack involved the launch of eight Shahed-type explosive drones, two Iskander missiles, and three S-300 missiles, four of which were intercepted. Civilian sites and “critical infrastructure” in central Poltava, eastern Donetsk, southeastern Zaporizhzhia, and central Dnipropetrovsk were among the locations attacked.

The prosecutor’s office for Donetsk confirmed that one missile had landed in a residential area, causing injuries. The 15-year-old boy and 35-year-old man sustained cuts and bruises, with a 30-year-old resident of a neighboring house suffering head trauma.

Since Russia’s invasion almost two years ago, cities and towns near the frontline in the east and south have been under constant shelling. Moscow has consistently denied targeting residential areas, but the ongoing violence has led to a significant loss of civilian lives. According to the United Nations, at least 10,000 civilians, and likely many more, have been killed in Ukraine since February 2022.

To defend against Russian attacks, Ukraine relies heavily on weapons and ammunition provided by Western allies. However, aid from the United States and the European Union is currently at a standstill.

The situation remains tense as Ukraine faces ongoing attacks from Russian forces, and the need for international support to defend against these aggressions continues to grow.
