Uganda, Nordics team up to unlock creative economy

The Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Faith Mercy Lakisa, has reiterated the government’s commitment to invest in and support the creative sector, which has become a key part of Uganda’s economy.

Statistics show that the sector, hitherto considered marginal and largely recreational, now stands at the center of economic development and job creation.

“Creative arts are no longer merely a formal way of having a cultural expression, but they have evolved into a vital socio-economic sector that is capable of driving innovation,” she said.
