President Yoweri Museveni expressed his admiration for the late Dokolo Woman MP, Cecilia Ogwal, at a vigil held in her honor at parliament. Speaker of parliament, Anita Among, expressed gratitude to the president for granting Ogwal an official burial and mentioned that he had approved a request by members of parliament for a special project in her honor. She emphasized how Ogwal prioritized the country’s interests over political affiliations, demonstrating a patriotic spirit in her approach to national issues.
In addition, Museveni criticized opposition activists for attempting to disrupt international conferences in Uganda and expressed his disapproval of their actions. The vigil was attended by other notable figures, including Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, Government Chief Whip Hamson Obua, and various members of parliament.
