Uganda: Museveni advances 395 UPDF soldiers

Ugandan President Museveni recently promoted and confirmed 395 senior and junior officer ranks in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). The promotions, announced by Defence spokesperson Brigadier General Felix Kulayigye, were approved by President Museveni, who serves as the commander-in-chief of the UPDF.

The promotions included 13 senior officer ranks, promoting the officers to the following ranks: 1 Brigade General, 10 Colonels, 29 Lt. Colonels, and 53 Majors. Additionally, 210 soldiers were promoted from the rank of Lieutenant to Captain, and 92 soldiers were promoted from Captain to Major.

Brigadier General Kulayigye congratulated the promoted officers, highlighting the hard work and dedication that led to their well-deserved promotions.

The following is a list of the promoted officers and their new ranks:
1. COL CHARLES OLUKA – BRIG
2. AG COL MOSES IKURET EMERU – COL
3. AG COL DAVID MUNYUA – COL
4. AG COL GEORGE BUGA ANDRUA – COL
5. AG COL CHARLES ASIIMWE KIBAATE – COL

And the list goes on, totaling 395 officers who have been acknowledged for their dedication and hard work with promotions within the UPDF.

These promotions mark a significant moment in the careers of the officers, recognizing their commitment to the UPDF and the nation of Uganda.

President Museveni and the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs, along with the entire UPDF fraternity, offered their congratulations and best wishes to the promoted senior and junior officers. The UPDF continues to prioritize the growth and development of its officers, recognizing their important role in ensuring peace and security in Uganda.
