Uganda is engaging Kenya over delays in approving work permits and trading licences for Ugandans living and doing business in the neighbouring country, the Office of the President’s Diaspora Affairs has said.
The intervention comes as Kenya steps up enforcement against foreign nationals operating small-scale businesses without the required licences.
Kenyan President William Ruto recently directed authorities to crack down on foreign nationals engaged in hawking, petty retail and other small-scale businesses without the necessary licences.
