The body of Derrick Genza, who went missing last week, was discovered on the roadside in Bujuuko, Mpigi district along the Kampala-Mityana road. Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, confirmed that Genza’s body has been taken to Mulago hospital for a postmortem examination. Furthermore, the police are still trying to determine the circumstances that led to Genza’s murder.

Owoyesigyire stated, “It looked like he was killed from another place and dumped in Bujuuko. We have collected some exhibits of evidential material which we have submitted to the police directorate of forensic science for examination.” This suggests that the police are actively investigating the case and are gathering evidence to aid in their inquiries.

Bujuuko has gained a reputation for a high crime rate, and this incident adds to the growing concerns about the safety of the area. Several months ago, the body of Jackline Nakabembe, who was on the verge of graduating from Makerere University, was found dumped in a water trench in the same area. It was later revealed that she was killed by her boyfriend, Dickens Agumeneitwe, who had recently been released from jail after serving a sentence related to rape and robbery.

Agumeneitwe confessed to killing Nakabembe because he believed she was planning to cheat on him. He deceived her by using a different phone number to test her faithfulness, a test she reportedly failed. Agumeneitwe, who is now facing murder charges, admitted to punching her near the breast, causing her to die on the spot. This tragic incident highlights the dangers that individuals, especially women, face in the area.

The fact that Bujuuko is becoming known for such heinous crimes raises concerns about the level of security and law enforcement in the area. It is crucial for the authorities to address these issues and take measures to ensure the safety of residents. The community must also be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring in the future.

In conclusion, the discovery of Derrick Genza’s body in Bujuuko has raised alarm bells about the safety and security of the area. The police are working diligently to investigate the case, and it is essential for the community to come together and support efforts to improve safety and prevent such tragedies from happening again.
