Two arrested over making toxic cheap liquor in Lira

The Lira City Security Committee has arrested two people suspected of manufacturing and distributing dangerous low-cost spirits.

The male and female suspects were arrested during an operation led by Lira Resident City Commissioner Lawrence Egole, also head of the security committee, at Jinja Camp in Lira City West Division on August 30.

The operation followed concerns over suspected illegal alcohol production in the area.
