Speaking on this occasion, the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Lotfi Dhieb, praised the level of partnership with the United Kingdom in all areas. He reviewed the priorities, especially regarding improving the employability of job seekers, especially graduates from higher education and vocational training.

The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Tunisia, Helen Winterton, emphasized that her country supports Tunisia’s efforts to develop educational programs, particularly through strengthening capacities in the English language and soft skills in educational institutions.

During a meeting with the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Lotfi Dhieb, the Ambassador indicated that the United Kingdom will, in the coming period, expand the scope of its partnership program to target second chance schools and vocational training centers, in addition to supporting economic empowerment programs through partnership with the African Development Bank.

According to a statement released on the ministry’s official page, the meeting between the two parties focused on monitoring partnership programs between the two countries in the field of employment and vocational training.

Speaking on this occasion, Lotfi Dhieb praised the level of partnership with the United Kingdom in all areas. He reviewed the priorities, especially regarding improving the employability of job seekers, especially graduates from higher education and vocational training.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral partnership in the field of private entrepreneurship and supporting young entrepreneurs by enhancing the attractiveness of vocational training to attract maximum dropouts and enhance their capacities to facilitate their integration into the national or international job market.

The Minister also noted that the establishment of the second chance school in the governorate of Kairouan, as part of a partnership between Tunisia, the United Kingdom, and UNICEF, is a qualitative achievement aimed at reintegrating dropouts into the education system, highlighting the importance of enhancing the skills of job seekers in languages and soft skills and harmonizing interventions in this field.
