Zaâfrani was briefed on the measures taken by the services of the Office of Merchant Marine and Ports (OMMP), in coordination with the parties involved, to contain the explosion that occurred in a gas storage depot owned by the National Petroleum Distribution Company (AGIL) to ensure continuity of work in the oil zone, according to a statement by the transport department.
It is worth mentioning that a fire broke out Thursday at 6:20 am in a gas storage depot owned by the National Petroleum Distribution Company (AGIL) located in the oil zone of Radès. There were 38 injured of varying degrees of severity.
In a statement to the TAP agency, the spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior, Faker Bouzghaya, clarified that preliminary data indicate a gas leak in one of the gas bottle filling pipes. For its part, the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines stated in a press release that an investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the fire. It also stated that 25 AGIL company employees, who participated in the firefighting operations, were transferred to the hospital in Ben Arous, with 4 of them admitted to the intensive care unit.
