The president of the Higher Independent Electoral Commission (ISIE), Farouk Bouasker, stated that “the board of the commission met on Thursday and approved the results of the elections for the national council of regions and districts.”
During a press conference held on Thursday by the ISIE to announce the composition of the national council of regions and districts, Bouasker indicated that the voting and counting operations for the elections of members of the 2nd parliamentary chamber were conducted with full transparency, in the presence of regional council members and observers.
The regional councils of the ISIE had finalized their minutes and reports concerning these elections and transmitted them to the central council of the commission, he specified.
The counting of votes for the elections of representatives of the regional councils and district councils to the national council of regions and districts has been completed. It took place on Thursday morning at all regional council seats except for the regional council of Sousse.
The ISIE announced the postponement of the elections for representatives of the Sousse regional council to the national council of regions and districts to Friday, March 29.
These elections will take place on Friday from 9 am to 11 am at the headquarters of the regional council of Sousse.
