The Tunisian Association of “SOS” Children’s Villages (ATVESOS) has indicated, in a statement, that it has obtained authorization from the Presidency of the Government to continue collecting donations from the public for a period of three months, starting from March 26, 2024.

Donors among the subscribers of the various mobile operators: Tunisie Telecom, Orange, and Ooredoo, can send SMS messages worth two dinars (exempt from any fees and taxes) to the number 85510.

The association aims to raise around three million dinars to support the budget of the four children’s villages (Gammarth, Siliana, Mahras, and Akouda).

ATVESOS reminds donors that the SMS can be sent empty or with the mention “SOS” in French to 85510. Donors can also donate the money from Zakat El Fitr to the association, as previously indicated by the Mufti of the Tunisian Republic, when he called on citizens to participate in this noble humanitarian operation, according to the same source.

The Tunisian Association of Children’s Villages in Tunisia relies on donations to mobilize the majority of its operating budget to meet the daily needs of children cared for at different levels (health, nutrition, social, psychological, and educational) as well as beneficiaries of the family strengthening program for children at risk of losing family support. The state provides the association with 2.5 million dinars on a regular basis.

It is worth noting that the Tunisian Association of SOS Children’s Villages provides for the social, educational, and psychological needs of approximately 3,500 children.
