The Ambassador of the Syrian Republic on a visit to the Assembly assured that the ties between the two countries have never been broken, despite the suspension of diplomatic relations under previous regimes, reflecting the privileged nature of the historical relations between Tunisia and Syria.

The President of the Parliament, Brahim Bouderbala, emphasized Tunisia’s position in favor of reintegrating Syria into its Arab environment.
Bouderbala, who received yesterday at the Bardo Palace, the Ambassador of the Syrian Republic in Tunis, Mohamed Mohamed.
During the meeting, Bouderbala highlighted the depth of the long-established fraternal relations between the two countries. This represents a favorable element to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The President of the Parliament welcomed the return of Syria to the Arab League. He stressed that the stability of the region depends precisely on the stability and peace in Syria. Brahim Bouderbala also expressed his total support for the legitimate right to regain the occupied Golan Heights and eliminate the remaining hotbeds of terrorism.
On his part, the Syrian diplomat assured that the ties between the two countries have never been severed, despite the suspension of diplomatic relations under previous regimes, which reflects the privileged nature of the historical relations between the two countries. He conveyed to Brahim Bouderbala the greetings of his Syrian counterpart Youssef Sabbagh, who invited him to visit Syria at the head of a parliamentary delegation.
Addressing the situation in the occupied territories, both parties welcomed the Arab and international awareness of the just Palestinian cause, denouncing the massacres committed against the unarmed Palestinian people.
