Admiral Rob Bauer praised the level of cooperation between Tunisia and NATO, citing the development of the Tunisian army’s capabilities in all military fields. He indicated the organization’s willingness to strengthen this cooperation.
Cooperation between Tunisia and NATO and ways to enhance it were at the center of a meeting yesterday between the Minister of National Defense, Imed Memmich, and the President of the organization’s military committee, Admiral Rob Bauer.
During the meeting, the Minister highlighted the evolution of cooperation with NATO, which has contributed to enhancing the defense capabilities of the Tunisian armed forces, especially after Tunisia obtained the status of a major non-NATO ally in 2015, according to a statement.
He also reaffirmed his department’s willingness to implement partnership mechanisms with NATO, to activate cooperation in the areas of training, and to exchange experiences within the framework of mutual respect and trust, in the interest of both parties.
