The military cooperation between Tunisia and Italy and the preparations for the Joint Military Commission were at the center of the meeting held on Monday between the Minister of National Defense Imed Memmich and the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia, Alessandro Prunas.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Defense, the Minister praised the historical relations between the two countries, calling for further strengthening of military cooperation, especially in the field of training.
Memmich also advocated for improving joint action to secure maritime borders and address threats that jeopardize the region’s stability, including irregular migration, terrorism, and organized crime.
The newly appointed Italian diplomat praised the level of military cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally and multilaterally.
He emphasized that Italy is determined to continue joint action to maintain security and stability in the Mediterranean Sea.
