Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh recently took to Instagram to express her disappointment with the quality of boreholes donated by Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate for the 2023 election, to some communities in Northern Nigeria. Peter Obi had donated and inaugurated boreholes for various communities in the North, but Tonto Dikeh was not satisfied with the outcome.
In her Instagram post, Tonto Dikeh addressed Peter Obi directly, stating that she was deeply disappointed by the boreholes donated to northern communities. She questioned Peter Obi’s commitment to taking the country to the next level and urged him to join forces with President Bola Tinubu to contribute to Nigeria’s progress.
Her post read, “His Excellency, sir, with all due respect, @peterobigregory, I am deeply disappointed by this. The idea that Nigeria was almost entrusted to you, sir, is disheartening. This isn’t trolling; I’m genuinely dissatisfied with your actions. I’m in disbelief. Were you truly committed to taking this country to the next level? This situation highlights the need for all of us to join hands with Mr President, @officialasiwajubat, and actively contribute to the nation’s progress. It’s not a task for one person alone; it requires the dedication of all. YOUR EXCELLENCY, Mr. Obi, I am profoundly let down. Despite that, you remain one of my favourite politicians. However, I believe in speaking the truth directly because I love you, but I love Nigeria even more.”
Tonto Dikeh’s criticism of Peter Obi’s actions reflects her passion for seeing Nigeria progress and her willingness to hold leaders accountable. She emphasized the importance of politicians working together to bring about positive change in the country, rather than relying on individual efforts.
While Tonto Dikeh expressed her disappointment in Peter Obi, she also made it clear that he remains one of her favorite politicians. Her words were not meant to attack him personally but to call attention to the need for more effective and meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s development.
In conclusion, Tonto Dikeh’s message to Peter Obi serves as a reminder that political leaders have a responsibility to the people they serve and must work diligently towards the betterment of the nation. By holding them accountable and urging them to collaborate for the common good, individuals like Tonto Dikeh play a crucial role in shaping the future of Nigeria. Let us hope that her words inspire positive change and encourage leaders to prioritize the needs of the people above all else.
