Renowned rapper Tim gave an emotional performance at an event celebrating the release of his debut solo gospel album, ‘Sonder’, in his hometown of Lusaka. The rapper, known by his real name Timbwama Chisenga, delivered a captivating set filled with spiritual lyrics that mesmerized the audience for over 2 hours, split into four sessions with short breaks in between.

One of the standout moments of the night was Tim’s performance of ‘Little Me, Big God’ featuring his longtime collaborator Sam Sakala, formerly known as Dope G. Their stage presence and chemistry reminded fans of their days in the critically acclaimed rap group Zone Fam, where they made a name for themselves in the industry.

A particularly poignant moment came when Pompi joined Tim on stage for their collaboration, ‘Here I Am’. Tim shared with the audience that the song was challenging for him to write and perform due to its raw honesty and vulnerability. He expressed his fears about what emotions the song would bring out, but ultimately delivered a heartfelt performance that resonated with the crowd.

The duo then transitioned into their 2017 hit duet, ‘Heart Beat’, which had the audience singing along to the verses and infectious chorus. It was a nostalgic moment, especially considering the event was held just a stone’s throw away from where the music video for the song was shot seven years earlier.

Talented singers Abel Chungu and Esther Chungu also made appearances on stage with Tim, adding their unique flair to the performance. The special experience of sharing the stage with these artists, along with leading the audience in a repentance prayer, made the show emotionally overwhelming for Tim.

In a touching moment, Tim revealed that it was the first time his mother had seen him perform live after 15 years in the music industry. The stage act was further enhanced by artist Kelly Zulu, who painted a stunning portrait of Tim in under 15 minutes during the performance.

‘Sonder’, Tim’s debut solo album, was officially released in November and is available on all major streaming platforms. The event marked a significant milestone in Tim’s career as he transitioned into the gospel music genre with a powerful and heartfelt performance that touched the hearts of all in attendance.
