The next vision for Benin is currently being designed. Yesterday, the Minister of State in charge of Development and Coordination of Government Action, Abdoulaye Bio Tchané, had discussions with young leaders from the 12 departments of Benin.
The discussions focused on the vision that this generation should conceive for Benin by 2060.
A group of young visionaries was invited to shape the future of Benin for the next 26 years. Despite the challenges faced, each one shared their dreams for a prosperous and flourishing Benin in 2060. Minister Abdoulaye Bio Tchané is pleased with the quality of contributions and commends the ambition shown by these young leaders. Their commitment marks the beginning of an initiative aimed at realizing the Benin Vision 2060.
“You have been called upon to discuss the vision that we are building for Benin in 2060. This is planning and when you are a modern country, you must submit to this exercise. It is both theoretical and practical and results from the opinions of people who have an ambitious vision for the country. It is obvious that the final vision we will have will be adopted by everyone. This vision will be proposed this time as a law of the Republic so that it is mandatory for future leaders,” the Minister of State stated.
After listening to the youth about their vision for the future of Benin, the Minister shared his own ambition. Considering that South Koreans are currently making donations to Benin, he expressed the desire to see future generations reverse this trend.
“My dream for the Beninese youth is that in 2060 you can witness that Benin is capable of making donations to South Korea. It is this kind of vision that you should impose on us, you should impose on the generation of leaders to say that you no longer want your compatriots to always be the ones who receive. Let them be among those who give,” Abdoulaye Bio Tchané stated.
The vision for Benin by 2060, according to Minister Abdoulaye Bio Tchané, is an anticipation of a national development plan to replace the Vision Benin Alafia 2025 which will expire in a year.
