The Orange Guinea Foundation is committed to health, education, and culture. According to its statutes, it also mobilizes in the event of humanitarian/health crises, or for cases of force majeure requiring strong mobilization of ecosystem actors.
Following the explosion at the Kaloum oil depot, significant damage was caused to several schools in the municipality, depriving thousands of children of a proper educational environment.
The Orange Guinea Foundation, deeply in solidarity with the populations of Kaloum affected by this tragedy, announces its contribution to the rehabilitation of school infrastructure impacted by the disaster.
With a budget of 3,600,000,000 GNF (three billion six hundred million Guinean francs), it commits to reconstructing classrooms at Collège Château d’eau, Almamya primary schools, the Center school, and the Gare school, reflecting its commitment to contribute to the reconstruction of a conducive learning environment for children.
These actions will be implemented in close collaboration with the National Service for School Infrastructure and Equipment.
This initiative reaffirms the Orange Guinea Foundation’s commitment to aligning its programs with national priorities, especially those identified by the Ministry of Pre-University Education and Literacy with which it renewed its agreement in February 2024.
It is worth noting that solidarity towards the families of Coronthie was demonstrated immediately after the explosion at the main oil depot: the Orange Guinea group presented a check worth 1 billion Guinean francs to local authorities to support the victims of Kaloum.
