The luxury brand of whisky, The Macallan, has officially started its 200th anniversary celebrations in Africa, beginning with a visit to Ghana by members of its leadership. The visit was organized by the team which included Aristotelis Baroutsis, Managing Director of The Famous Grouse, Edrington and Miguel Ángel Soto, Head of Commercial, MEAI, Edrington. They expressed their gratitude for commencing this momentous journey in a nation known for its rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality.
“Africa is a fundamental plain for us at The Macallan because many of the world’s wealthiest consumers are here and their knowledge of single-malt whisky is ever evolving,” shared Miguel Ángel Soto. The team visited an exclusive reception held in honor of The Macallan at the Polo Club in Accra, where they met prominent personalities and whisky connoisseurs from Ghana. Abayomi Ajao, Customer Marketing Manager, West & North Africa, Edrington introduced attendees to The Macallan’s 200 years young campaign and unveiled the logo and the messaging.
