The report from the program “Exclusive Investigations” broadcasted this Sunday evening by the TV channel M6 at a fast pace is simply a political staging. The architect of the Arab Spring wanted to send a threatening message to the country’s authorities. It is a “settling of scores report” and nothing more. I was not surprised by the content which, under the guidance of the usual media patchwork, mainly tried to whitewash the Ennahdha Islamists and focus on the architect’s proteges as the sole representatives of the opposition.
Ignoring the activism of a great female political fighter who is arbitrarily behind bars, namely Abir Moussi, was of course expected, but it also confirms the misogyny of those who claim to defend women from the other side of the Mediterranean. This confirms the fear that the architect feels just at the mention of the name of the PDL president.
As for the accusations related to the migration issue, they aim to exert pressure on the regime to make concessions, but also to reassure a far-right that makes clandestine emigration its battle horse for the upcoming European elections in May. The old tune of antisemitism is also part of the pressure tools.
The question now is what is being plotted for us in the coming months and its impact on the lives of Tunisians.
That being said, I would like to draw the attention of the sponsor of this report, namely the architect of the “Arab Spring,” that insisting on the late President Ben Ali, peace be upon him, and constantly reminding that he was a great dictator, and that the “barrow revolution” was deliverance for Tunisians, corroborates the feeling I have of this architect being overwhelmed by events. They should get with the times.
The vast majority of Tunisians now know that what happened in 2011 was not a revolution as he wants to make people believe, and many Tunisians openly say today that they regret the former regime. Likewise, this architect seems to be unaware of the current situation in Tunisia and the skyrocketing popularity of the PDL president Abir Moussi, who was deliberately ignored in this biased report. Contrary to his version, Abir Moussi enjoys an unprecedented reputation since her abduction, which scares the poor architect. In short, without elaborating too much, the mountain has given birth to a virtual mouse.
