Here is an expression that I haven’t heard or read in a long time, even though authors used to make extensive use of it to talk about patriotism and loyalty to the nation, under all latitudes. Throughout my childhood, within a family struggling for Tunisia’s independence, it seemed excessive to me, sometimes annoying, since existing only for it was something accepted in advance, a kind of banality.
It comes back insistently to my memory, imposes itself on my mind, embodied by Abir Moussi and no one else.
