Meline Kanza, the journalist present in Ghana for the African Games, asserts that the photos circulating on the Internet referencing the poor organization of the Congolese state are false. According to him, the principle of the African Games is that the host country takes care of the delegations, with the participation fees paid by the participating countries, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) had already paid these fees.
It appears that the organizers were overwhelmed by the arrival of delegations from several countries, resulting in a delay in transporting the athletes. Athletes from the DRC had to wait until 2 a.m. at the Accra airport for the buses that were supposed to take them to the Games village where they are housed.
Meline Kanza asserts that this situation is not due to the minister or any disorganization within the Congolese delegation, contrary to what is being said on social media.
