At the opening of the 4th session of communication of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulama, Mr. Toufiq explained that doctrine plays an important role in ensuring spiritual security and peace by immunizing the believer against confusion and discord. He noted that the theme of this event, “the Acharite school and the rites: scientific and methodological coherence in the service of the necessities of religion,” confirms the doctrinal and spiritual commonality between Morocco and African countries. This theme is also important because it focuses on Acharite doctrine, one of the major Islamic references that provides clear answers to urgent questions, he said, emphasizing that doctrine is a way of life that shapes the daily experience of the individual. Mr. Toufiq also presented the roadmap of the Foundation for this year, which includes the development of a guide for the Mourchidines and Mourchidates in African countries, aiming to promote science, knowledge, and Islamic thought, as well as a guide on Sufi practices in partnership with imams and ulama.
He also highlighted the particular importance of the Charter of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulama, which aims to promote good morality and combat disruptive currents. For his part, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Ulama, Mohamed Yssef, emphasized the importance of this meeting, which takes place alongside the religious talks during Ramadan presided over by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, as it addresses the issue of schools and references guiding Islam in Africa, ensuring that these rites cement the links between sub-Saharan Ulama and the Kingdom of Morocco. In this sense, Mr. Yssef emphasized that “Morocco is a pioneer in organizing this type of meetings, as the first conference of African Ulama was held under the presidency of the late King Mohammed V,” noting that the harmony between Moroccan and African ulama was essentially aimed at serving the liberation efforts made by African leaders throughout history. Africa has young Ulama and Mourchidines, who aspire to spread and share the knowledge related to religious schools and jurisprudential rites, especially the scientific and methodological coherence to magnify good morality, he noted. This scientific session is part of the action program of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulama, aiming to organize communication sessions led by the Ulama members of the Foundation each Ramadan to contribute to the consolidation and protection of common African religious constants. The two-day meeting program includes several conferences focusing on Acharite doctrine, the preservation of the necessities and purposes of religion, and jurisprudential rites: genesis, origin, and continuation.
