The humanitarian aid protocol was signed between the Ambassador of China to Congo, Li Yan, and the Minister of Social Affairs, Solidarity and Humanitarian Action, Irène Marie-Cécile Mboukou-Kimbatsa.

Nearly 100 million CFA francs is the amount that the Republic of Congo has just received. It is a donation from China intended to support the country in dealing with flooding.

During the signing of the humanitarian aid protocol between the Ambassador of China to Congo, Li Yan, and the Minister of Social Affairs, Irène Marie-Cécile Mboukou-Kimbatsa, the diplomat indicated that “This is the third consecutive year that China has provided this type of humanitarian aid to Congo, which is an illustration of solidarity between our two peoples and the building of a shared future community between China and Africa.”

Nearly one million Congolese are affected by the recent floods, with over five hundred thousand in need of emergency humanitarian assistance. This information was provided by Irène Marie-Cécile Mboukou-Kimbatsa, who stated that the 2023 floods are the most significant that Congo has experienced in over half a century.
