The Congolese government launched the development of the Master Plan for Industrialization and Economic Diversification of the Congo (PDIDE) on March 28 in Brazzaville. This initiative is a partnership between Congo, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).
According to adiac-congo, the development of the PDIDE will increase the contribution of the Congolese industrial sector to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and will make the most of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Experts from various ministries and authorized institutions will work on developing a comprehensive master plan for industrialization and economic diversification, taking into account the natural resources available in Congo. This strategic document will guide the government in directing its investments according to the priorities outlined in the National Development Plan (PND) 2022-2026.
