Received on Sunday, March 31st on a web television, the Secretary-General for Communication of the party Les Démocrates, Guy Dossou Mitokpè, took the opportunity to criticize the government spokesperson, Wilfried Houngbédji, who is amazed by the achievements of his boss who would be a candidate in 2026 to preserve his achievements.

During the show “The Guest” on Esae TV, on Sunday, March 31, 2024, Honorable Guy Dossou Mitokpè commented on the victory of the Senegalese people, and took this opportunity to once again express criticism towards the government spokesperson, Léandre Wilfried Houngbédji.

The government spokesperson reportedly declared during one of his many appearances that “President Patrice Talon is a candidate to preserve his achievements.” But, what achievements are we talking about?,” wonders the Secretary for Communication of the Les Démocrates party.

For the political actor and opposition member, one must go to Senegal to see what Macky Sall has accomplished during his two terms.

“They talk about achievements. Go to Senegal and see the accomplishments of Mr. Macky Sall and compare the figures. President Patrice Talon has not done half of what Macky Sall has done for the Senegalese people,” insisted the opponent.

But despite the positive impact he had in terms of accomplishments and infrastructure, the Senegalese people blocked his path to a third term.

“Those who believe that Benin has changed under President Patrice Talon simply do not travel. All the countries in the sub-region are dynamic, and significant changes are happening in these countries. If you compare the accomplishments in Senegal under Macky Sall, and the changes in Benin under Patrice Talon, it’s like day and night,” he emphasized.

Addressing Léandre Wilfried Houngbédji, Guy Mitokpè believes that one cannot access power as a Republican and become a monarch. “This is what we refuse,” he insists.

“The best way to preserve your achievements is to leave this country in peace and in a stable manner. Because when a country is stable, your achievements will be preserved. Because this country existed before this regime, and will exist after this regime,” he explains to the government spokesperson.
