Telling my parents about my sexuality lifted weight off my shoulders – Singer Darkoo

British-Nigerian rapper and singer, Oluwafisayo Isa, known as Darkoo has said opening up to her parents about her sexuality lifted weight off her shoulders.

The queer artiste featured in a recent episode of ‘The Appointment Show’ podcast hosted by Layo.

She said she has been happier since opening up to her mom about her sexuality.

“The day I told my mom [about my sexuality], it felt like a massive weight off my shoulder… I’ve been happy since then,” she said.

“Opening up to my mom and dad was a great relief. It was hard on my mom more than my dad because I’m closer to her….
