1600 former “Kulunas”, who have become builders of the nation after 2 years of training in various trades at the “Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo” training and guidance center, have received their certificates and will soon be deployed across the country, notably in Kinshasa where they will rehabilitate the Kintambo General Hospital on behalf of the National Service led by Major General Jean-Pierre Kasongo Kabwik. Others among them have been trained in the National Service’s carpentry workshop to produce benches for various schools and higher education institutions in Kinshasa, ex-Bandundu, and Kongo Central.

“The President asked me if I am sure of your change. We will see this change in your different works,” said Major General Jean-Pierre Kasongo Kabwik to these new graduates.

It should be noted that this 2-year journey, completed and approved with certificates, is a great achievement for the builders, the National Service, and the entire country that caused it.

“2 years at the Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo training and guidance center for training and guidance, today you are at the end and you have your certificates. Congratulations to you!”, said Major General Jean-Pierre Kasongo Kabwik during this ceremony.

At first, the process seemed frightening to one of the builders, but this only contributed to their advantages and social security, as today, trained in trades, certified, and registered, they are useful to the DRC. “The government brought us here while we thought we were going to die.” But we are not dead, we are visible and we have certificates, we are registered. The advice I give to my brothers in Kinshasa is to change. Achievements require labor. Today, we are master masons, we know how to build houses and work in several trades,” he emphasized.

On the same occasion, the general expressed his thanks to the head of state for this initiative and for providing the necessary elements for the training process. “I come to express my gratitude with deference to the President of the Republic, head of state, for allowing this training and guidance to take place here, but also for providing the National Service with everything we needed…”, stated the senior officer.

Furthermore, this group of builders, now good citizens and useful members of society, will be replaced by several new groups of young delinquents formerly called “Kulunas” and will be handed over to the National Service commander this Tuesday by the chief of the Congolese National Police.

“You receive your assignments and today, when we finish, you will be provided with uniforms and everything you need. You will receive your clothes and belongings today. The country needs you to go to your assigned places to work,” promised General Kabwik.

It is worth mentioning that during the event, certificates were handed out to the 1600 graduates with a special mention to the President of the Republic for his involvement in the success of this training. Certified and assigned, these previously forgotten individuals now prove the change they have embraced during this training period.

They will be sent to several provinces: Lubumbashi, Mbuji-Mayi, Kananga… with a large group going to Kinshasa this Sunday. These builders from all corners of the country are tasked with rehabilitating the Kintambo Hospital building and will be involved in the production of benches in the National Service’s carpentry workshop located in the commune of N’Sele. These benches will meet the demands of various schools and higher education institutions in Kinshasa, ex-Bandundu, and Kongo Central.
