In his address at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) on Friday, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe made a passionate call for all levels of government to invest in cutting-edge technology to bolster the nation’s security apparatus and protect its population.

Speaking at the inaugural founder’s day lecture of LASUSTECH under the theme “Nation Building Through Innovation, Science and Technology”, Ogundipe emphasized the importance of defense technology innovation in enhancing a country’s ability to address security challenges and safeguard its people. He also announced scholarships and financial support for outstanding students, reflecting the institution’s dedication to rewarding excellence and academic achievement.

Additionally, the event witnessed the commendable gesture of Prof. Adebisi Balogun, former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, who generously provided financial support to the best students in each of the five faculties of LASUSTECH.
