As a chairman of a political party and an economist, I can tell you that we need economists to run the affairs of the country, not people who would just be making noise and running the country down. Even the United States (US), that is seen as a world superpower is being run by a Professor of Economics. It cannot be by accident. We cannot continue to be running our economy based on politics. We must take this to be a country of rule of law and sound economics.  I don’t think we can afford another mistake. We made a mistake by putting Nigeria into this position. People thought they could manage the country without getting the right people. In the past 30 years or more, we have been making the same mistakes and we’ve not even attempted to change the policy. It’s terrible. We have wasted 30 years or more of silver, we cannot afford to waste another one year of gold. We must try and look at what we are doing wrong. In England, if you do anything wrong with their money nobody would even ask whether you are related to the Queen. The law must take its course.
